The Legion of Honor (L.O.H.) activities range from our award-winning Drill Team to our Camping Club - with lots of fun in between! The following description will let you know why we feel that "It’s an honor to belong to the Legion of Honor".The Legion’s DRILL TEAM has consistently taken first and second place in Midwest Shrine Convention competition, and has taken on the challenge of international competition at the Shrine Imperial Convention. This team, consisting of a Captain, three lieutenants, a drill sergeant plus the regular drill members, meets weekly … keeping that sharp, competitive edge.
Our COLOR GUARD is dressed in 1776 period uniforms, and regularly posts the colors at Zuhrah’s monthly meetings, as well as at many other functions and activities outside our Shrine Center throughout the year. In addition to the flags, this group has it’s own fife and drum unit in attendance!
The Legion DEGREE TEAM is the oldest active Degree Team in all of Shrinedom! Responding to Blue Lodge invitations, this team will perform the third degree ceremony, and will also provide an annual Lodge of Instruction for the Grand Lodge. This very active team has it’s own President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer and meets once a month.
The PAST COMMANDERS’ CLUB consists of members who have served the Legion as Commander. Meeting monthly, they perform various tasks within the L.O.H.
Our CAMPING CLUB consists of members who enjoy camping out in various locations during the year. Many have R.V. units and the "Wagonmaster" keeps everything organized!
Our unit, made up primarily of veterans, also participates at the annual Shrine Circus and performs groundskeeping and other chores at the Zuhrah Shrine Center. We welcome new members to join us … and enjoy us!
