The Ho Ho Area Shrine Club was formed in 1966 by Zuhrah Shrine members
who were residents of the area of the "Valley of the Jolly (Ho, Ho,
Ho,)
Green Giant." Most original members resided in St. Peter, Savage,
LeSueur
and Belle Plaine, and many were employed by the Green Giant Company.
(This
should provide you with a clue about the name of the club!)
In 1992, the club formed a parade unit called the "Ho Ho Classics"
in
which club members drive miniature 1959 Chevy Corvettes to represent
Zuhrah
Temple by appearing in parades throughout southern Minnesota. Ho Ho
members
are recognized as among the strongest supporters of Zuhrah Temple and
the
Shrine Hospitals of North America!
Current club members reside in Henderson, Le Center, Minneapolis,
LeSueur,
St. Peter, Montgomery, Jordan, Belle Plaine, Winthrop, Chaska, Mankato,
Gaylord, Arlington and New Prague. Club meetings are on the first
Monday
of each month, with the meeting location rotating from town-to-town.
The
evening includes a social hour and dinner with their ladies, followed
by
a meeting and program.
